Goodwill is locally focused. As one of the nation's largest and most trusted charities, we use your donations of cash, clothing, footwear, household items, motor vehicles, and computer equipment to help support our services for individuals with disabilities and other challenges in South Central Wisconsin.
Goodwill is financially responsible. In fact, Smart Money magazine rated Goodwill Industries among America’s top ten charities because of our wise money management. More than 86 cents of every dollar we spend is used to provide life-changing services.
Goodwill is for good. Our services truly transform the lives of area individuals. Some receive our services for a short period of time. Others receive them for a year, a decade, multiple decades, or a life time. Plus:
- As more people find work, independence, housing, and the helping hand they need, our entire community is better.
-
Our work helps the environment. Our practice of selling donated merchandise through our retail stores, online auction site, and online bookstore helps keep items out of landfills. Also, textiles that are not sold to the public are used to make products such as carpet pads or are sold to third world countries where there is a great need for clothing. Donated computer equipment that is not sold to the public is sold to a recycler who, among other things, will not export waste.
Goodwill provides quality services. We are proud that CARF, an internationally recognized accreditation body, has accredited us for our community housing, community employment, job development, and job-site training services for individuals with disabilities. Click here to learn more.
