Donate Movement

Every day the universal symbol for recycling reminds us to recycle bottles, paper, and more. Now imagine another symbol on clothing, household goods, and electronics that reminds you that an item can be donated when you no longer need it. Goodwill has named this effort the Donate Movement.

Just as there are things you

Donate Your Electronics to Goodwill

Wisconsin state law prohibits residents from disposing of certain electronics in the trash. Each of our eight attended donation centers gladly accepts most of the prohibited items, FREE OF CHARGE.

Specifically, Goodwill ACCEPTS:

- computers (e.g., desktop, laptop, netbook, and tablet computers) in any condition;*

- desktop printers (including those that scan, fax, and/or copy) in any condition;*

- computer monitors in any condition;*

- other computer accessories (e.g., keyboards, mice, speakers, external hard drives, flash drives) in any condition;*

- working DVD players, VCRs, and other video players (i.e., DVRs); and

- working and nonworking cell phones

Donating these items to Goodwill is a win-win situation. Donors win because they can dispose of their items conveniently and free of charge, plus their donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Area individuals with disabilities and other challenges win because donations generate the revenue we need to provide employment, housing, and support to individuals with disabilities and other challenges.

We regret that at this time we CANNOT ACCEPT televisions, nonworking DVD players, VCRs, and other video players, and stand alone fax machines.
