In a typical day, an Assistant Manager can expect to…

  • Be responsible for opening/closing the store, managing register efficiency, achieving daily production goals, and providing excellent customer service 
  • Supervise production while producing product, assigning production tasks, routinely checking for quality and pricing standards and monitoring production staff productivity
  • Provide leadership, guidance, training, and professional development in a positive environment to motivate staff and achieve overall store goals   
  • Analyzes and interprets report data and partners with the Store Manager to improve processes and increase margin
  • Audits and trains employees on workplace safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Assists the Store Manager with administrative tasks such as payroll, ordering, scheduling, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, and onboarding of new hires.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: 

  • Post-secondary degree with 4+ years progressively responsible retail supervisory experience OR 5+ years of progressively responsible retail supervisory experience
  • Your work/life balance is a priority to us. You’ll work a mix of daytime, evening and weekend shifts but you’ll have every other weekend off
  • Forklift certification will take place upon hire
  • Ability to lift, push, & pull a minimum of 40 lbs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred

General Summary:  

Plans and manages individualized services in areas of vocational, personal, and social skills for assigned employment participants. Leads their Support Employment staff in providing quality services and support. 

Supervisory responsibilities: 

  • Oversees the daily workflow of their work group. 
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. 
  • Provides constructive and timely coaching to assist with discipline of employees in accordance with company policy. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Develops service plan that responds to served individual goals. Continuously monitors the service plan to assess progress and identifies the need for modification.  

• Informs funding sources of changing service plans to ensure billing occurs in a timely manner.  

• Ensures authorizations are accurate and current. 

• Regularly identifies ways to improve services. Identifies problems and looks at root causes to determine solutions. 

• Assists persons served in identifying, accessing and coordinating services. Communicates with team members and others associated with individual’s plans. Completes up-to-date case documentation including annual service planning and updating of the Human Service database. 

• Provides personal and vocational counseling including crisis intervention. Protects the human rights of persons served.  

• Assists the Program Manager with the training and development of coaches. 

• Provides self-advocacy training to served persons. Act as advocate, when necessary, within the program and in the community. 

• Arranges disability and related education to employers, coworkers and other community contacts of persons being served. 

• Assists served persons with their skill development, behavior issues, job modifications, wage issues and personal care. Coordinates transportation for persons served, including mobility training. 

• Informs Program Manager of any issues involving persons served. 

• Confirms that the principles and practice associated with supported employment services support ADA, Affirmative Action, Wage & Hour and related employment laws. 

  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.

Required education and/or work experience: 

  • Associate degree in related field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. 
  • 2 years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred. 
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Complete maintenance work order requests as assigned or alerts management when a specialized Technician is needed to complete the request. 
  • Aides in daily, weekly and quarterly cleaning schedules to ensure a welcoming, clean and safe environment for staff, participants and guests. 
  • Share pertinent updates on the status of work orders with management or the individual who requested the work/service.  
  • Regular communication with the Facilities & Real Estate team to ensure efficient workflow, as well as hand-offs of work orders and cleaning tasks. 
  • Opens or closes the Goodwill Home Office, as scheduled. 
  • Orders supplies, parts and equipment needed to complete maintenance orders. 
  • Maintains condition of tools, supplies, products and equipment for the department. Minimizes the possibility of theft. 
  • Maintains an organized and clean maintenance department work area in accordance with established standards. (i.e. Storage efficiency, securing items safely, and proper labeling of equipment stored in the area.) 
  • Assists with completion of annual ADA compliance inspections for all sites.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • This will be a part time position consisting of 24 – 30 hours per week.

General Summary:

As a steward of the Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin brand, the Marketing Communications Specialist role develops written internal and external communications, supports media and community relations, and coordinates key organizational partnerships to grow donations and advance awareness of our community programs and services (mission).  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop all written internal and external marketing and brand related communications. 
  • Maintain monthly and annual content calendar based on strategic directives while advancing awareness of Goodwill of South-Central Wisconsin’s mission and why it matters to our local community. 
  • Assist with media relations, managing timely media coverage and participation at key events. Coordinate pre/post interview logistics, prepare briefing documents and talking points, and serve as a spokesperson, as needed. 
  • Track and manage responses to media inquiries to maintain and grow database of media and influencers.  
  • Schedule periodic staff media training and assist with crisis communications. 
  • Coordinate community activations and assist with event staffing, including volunteer recruitment.  
  • Assist with community outreach/engagement with corporate and nonprofit partners; attend Chamber of Commerce and affinity group meetings on behalf of Goodwill of South-Central Wisconsin.

General Summary:

The position supports the purchased goods for resale process to supplement sales in our primarily donation driven Goodwill stores. The Purchased Goods Coordinator assists the process by receiving product, data entry, distribution and communicating information about the new goods. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with entering purchase orders into Purchasing Operating Software (POS), receiving the product and ensuring timely distribution and transfer to stores and between stores.
  • Helps organize and maintain record for purchased goods.
  • Assists the Customer Experience Manager with proper inventory control through the receiving process and store-based inventories/ cycle counts.
  • Partners with Asset Protection when needed.
  • Enters and maintains item files in POS software.
  • Runs sales reports, to identify needs and trends.
  • Helps select merchandise and forecast needs. 
  • Supports the processing and merchandising of new goods training of store personnel.
  • Merchandises purchased goods for resale, as assigned.
  • Routinely communicates to stores and offers outstanding customer service.
  • Updates planograms and block plans.
  • Provide new and special buy signage in brand standards, partnering with marketing.

General Summary:

The Site Coordinator is expected to provide effective clinic site management; communicate clear and consistent messages to volunteers regarding expectations, goals, measures, and outcomes and to ensure a successful filing season. This position is allotted 250 hours of limited time employment during the tax season, starting no sooner than December 1st.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures assigned sites have all processes in place to adhere to the ten Quality Site Requirements. 
  • Supervise volunteers working at assigned sites. 
  • Verify that every volunteer has signed and dated Form 13615, Volunteer Standards of Conduct Agreement –VITA/TCE Programs, prior to working at the site. 
  • Establish a process to ensure all IRS tax law-certified volunteer preparers and quality reviewers are assigned returns within their level of certification and within scope of the VITA/TCE Programs. 
  • Ensure a process is in place to conduct a complete quality review on all returns by a designated or peer-to-peer quality reviewer.  
  • In collaboration with the Program Coordinator, schedule dates and times that assigned site(s) will be operational, and completes and submits Form 13715 (Site Information Sheet)  
  • to Program Coordinator. 
  • Develop and maintain schedules for all volunteers to ensure there is adequate coverage, supplies, and equipment at your site.  
  • Share and monitor adherence to the Volunteer Tax Alerts (VTA) and Quality Site Requirement Alerts (QSRA) with all volunteers. 
  • Provide exceptional customer experience to those we serve. 
  • Address and improve processes as needed, thinking quickly and with others in mind. 
  • Ensure clients’ documentation is secured and placed into appropriate files within data management systems. 
  • Works in partnership with Program Coordinator to ensure effective program coordination and service delivery. 
  • Submit accurate and timely data reports and complete grant information as requested. 
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values. 

Requirements

Education and/or work experience:

  • Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; or mix of equivalent years of related work experience and education.  
  • Previous experience with personal income tax preparation strongly preferred.

  • Intake/Interview/Quality Review 
  • Basic Tax Law 
  • Advanced Tax Law

The volunteer’s responsibilities include completing assigned tasks for the VITA program at Goodwill. Volunteers will maintain a high degree of professionalism with internal and external customers that align with Goodwill values.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

· Partner with the taxpayer and follow the process to complete federal and state tax returns.

· Remain professional in their interactions with all internal and external customers.

· Communicate to management when you are running late or unable to fulfill your duties.

· Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.

Volunteer as Client Facilitator:

· Welcome and orient the tax filers to the tax site. 

· Provide taxpayers with intake forms and answers non-tax questions.

· Ensure the taxpayer has brought all required documents to verify taxpayer identity and complete tax return. 

· Determine if the return is within the scope of returns, we are allowed to do and determine which certified volunteer can prepare  

  the return. 

· Manage waiting and entry areas to maintain the flow of taxpayers according to site operational procedures. 

· Refer taxpayers to Tax Preparers or Site Coordinators for tax questions.

· Inform taxpayers about other community resources when necessary.

Volunteer as Tax Preparer: 

· Interviews taxpayers using the IRS Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet.

· Provide high-quality tax return preparation to taxpayers who qualify for VITA assistance. 

· Prepare only returns that are within their certification level(s) and within the scope of the program. 

· Enter tax information into the tax software. 

· Answer questions and/or use available resources to assist taxpayers. 

· Always adhere to quality site requirements and Volunteers Standards of Conduct. 

· Maintain taxpayer privacy and confidentially standards.
